How To Find Health Insurance With A Free Phone Call

When people are asked why they want medical insurance, the most frequent answer is that they know they can't afford to pay for an expensive medical issue. A broken arm can be too expensive for most individuals, and any type of major medical episode, or surgery, would be way above their financial means to pay. However, when you are looking for Miami health insurance, here are a few questions to ask when you make the free phone call.

Deductibles are the biggest factor in your being able to customize a plan that you can afford. Obviously, the higher the deductible you choose, the lower your premium will be. However, are you saving money by choosing a lower deductible?

What kind of plan are you interested in purchasing? There are HMOs and PPOs. What does all of that mean, and how is it going to affect your out-of-pocket expense? Does "In Network" allow you to get the best medical care, or should you have a policy that offers "Out of Network" physicians?

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) mean that most of your health care will have to be "In-Network", and you will have to choose a Primary Care Physician (PCP). Your PCP will be the focal point of all your medical information about medications, procedures, surgeries, and any other medically-related involvement. If you have children, you can select a pediatrician for them. If you need a specialist, your PCP will have to refer you to someone, or else you will have to pay more.

Preferred Provider Organizations (PPOs) don't require you to choose a PCP, and you don't need to have a referral to see some other doctor in the Network. However, if you go outside the 'network', you will still pay a higher amount and you will have to pay the doctor at the time of services, then file with your PPO to attempt reimbursement.
